A project run by the SBC Arts Unit involving a wide range of artists working with schools on an Indian theme. The project climaxing on the 14th and 15th of October with processions, workshops, exhibitions and performances was part of the Commonwealth Games celebration of the transfer of the games from Delhi to Glasgow. Our part was to put on workshops to decorate our big drums and put on an outside performance on the 14th whilst the procession paraded through the Bank Street Gardens in Galashiels. Haley designed the templates for the theme critical parts of the artwork and the TRASH Club group and members of our adults Wednesday Group painted and drew the designs, including designing their own versions. The Wednesday Group drummers played for the procession on their splendidly arrayed drums.
